FAQ

Got questions? We’ve got answers.
Whether you're a seasoned runner or just joining for fun, here's everything you need to know about race day.
❓ What is Be the Change?
It’s a community run (and kids’ Mini Run!) in Sundre, Alberta — raising funds for Burden Bearers Counselling, a local non-profit that provides mental health support to those in need.
🗓 When and where is it?
Date: Saturday, September 6, 2025
Start Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Snake Hill in Sundre, Alberta
Look for signs and volunteers when you arrive. We’ll send a route map to all participants by email the week of the race.
👟 Who can participate?
Anyone! Adults can join the 3K Run/Walk or the 6K Run, and children are welcome in the Mini Run. Families are encouraged to come out together.
💧 Is this a timed race?
This is a fun run, not a formal competition. We'll have volunteers keeping track of bib numbers for top finishers, but the focus is on participation, not pace.
🧼 What’s the foam pit all about?
At the end of the race, you’ll have the option to celebrate with a run through the foam pit! It’s non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and totally optional.
🎽 Is a t-shirt included?
Yes! All participants receive a Be the Change t-shirt and a positive affirmation bracelet.
Register by August 15 to guarantee your shirt size.
🧾 How do I sign the waiver?
The waiver is built right into the registration form and must be signed digitally before you can complete payment.
🚗 Where do I park?
Free parking will be available near the school and field. Specific details and a map will be emailed to all registrants closer to the event.
🧃 Will there be water or food?
Yes — water stations will be available along the route, and light snacks will be provided after the run.
👨👩👧 Can I bring a stroller or walk the Adult course?
Absolutely. This is a family-friendly, go-at-your-own-pace event. Strollers are welcome on the 3K or 6K course.
❌ Can I cancel or get a refund?
We understand that plans change — but since this is a fundraising event, all registrations are non-refundable. Your fee will still go directly toward supporting mental health services through Burden Bearers, even if you're unable to attend.
If you can’t make it, you’re welcome to:
-
Transfer your registration to someone else (just contact us to update the info), or
-
Still pick up your t-shirt and bracelet as a thank-you for your support!
*If we need to cancel the event (for any reason), of course you'll get a refund!
